Dear Colleagues and Friends, We look forward to welcoming you in our beautiful city of Kaunas for the 2nd Baltic Sleep Meeting which takes place on September 3-4th, 2021. We do hope that pandemic situation allows to meet all of you live and organise the event in the safe and convenient environment as much as possible. For those, who will not be able to participate live, we offer a virtual attendance option with the high-quality technical solutions, making the experience as much exciting as the real event. Kaunas, the second largest Lithuania’s city, encompasses green and watery surroundings, preserved Interwar architecture, rich cultural background from classical music to Jazz and modern dance. Kaunas is also a city of young people with over 35,000 students studying at one of the seven universities there, including the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, largest institution of higher education for biomedical sciences in Lithuania. The university successfully integrates studies, research and clinical practice. Sleep medicine is still young, but rapidly growing clinical, academic and research area in Lithuania, as well as in the rest of the Baltics. The warm and productive collaboration between Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian sleep medicine specialists resulted in a very successful 1st Baltic Sleep Meeting that was organised in Tallin, Estonia in the year 2019. We are proud to announce that the current hybrid 2nd Baltic Sleep Meeting has been endorsed by European Academy of Neurology and enriched by the lectures of European experts in sleep medicine. We do hope that colourful scientific and social programme of the meeting will gather different clinicians, researchers and other specialists and help to strengthen the sleep medicine area in the Baltics.
