Our Outage Management series of forums has been rather successful and the Outage Management has only increased in importance for Utilities within Europe. The number of power failures is rising in Europe and is expected to rise even more due to aging components in networks, third party damage, cyberattacks, extreme weather events and increased integration of renewable energy. When it comes to power interruptions, the biggest concerns for network operators are the cost of outages, reputation and regulations. When power interruption occurs, companies have to invest substantial sums of money to fix the damaged equipment, as well as to manage the situation of customers suffering from the loss of power supply (potential financial compensation).
