"“Afro Historic Renaissance, Junkanoo the Unifying Force”." We are inviting you to participate in activities of the upcoming World Junkanoo Festival 2022. From 1st to 10th of March 2022 the theme “Afro Historic Renaissance, Junkanoo the Unifying Force”. WJF runs along the 65th Independence Celebration of Ghana. Junkanoo is the signature from beginning of 1700, as Kundum and Fancy dress festival among the Ashanti and the Nzema people of Ghana. Junkanoo was passed on to the people of African roots during slavery and slave revolt. WJF had influence on traditional celebration in the United States, Canada and Europe; Caribbean. WJF is a brainchild of the World Junkanoo Festival Foundation, Musicians Union of Ghana and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. History Presentation, Music and Costume Festival promoting variety of other music and dance disciplines which has been celebrated worldwide over the years. Junkanoo is likely to set up a permanent exchange between Musicians and Cultural stakeholders in the African Diaspora.
