The conference will deal with systems research for the development of sustainable smallholder agriculture. Major areas of attention within this context are: a) The historical trajectory of agricultural systems research in the past, present, and the future b) The challenge of continuous learning in systems research practice c) Strategic initiatives on integrated systems research for development: international perspectives from CGIAR systems research programs d) Scoping systems research: systems analysis and characterization e) Integrated systems improvement and sustainable intensification f) Social science, policy and gender dimensions of systems research g) Taking systems research to scale: innovation systems, institutional innovation, and scaling High profile keynote speakers have been invited to highlight these topics. Participants are warmly invited to submit and present a paper or poster. Conference papers will be selected and submitted for publication. The purpose of the conference is to share and learn from research undertakings on integrated systems, with an emphasis on results: data, methods and lessons learned.
